Tips for Information Technology Resumes

1. Focus on resume length

When applying for a job position as an IT professional, make sure to keep track of the length of your CV. The recruiters have restricted the time limit to allot to reading resumes, and so no more than two pages, if you exceed beyond that, the employer will ignore it. Do not need to add experiences that are not relevant to the appropriate job position.

2. Feature your Accomplishments

Employment Milestones are of importance to understand what you can bring to the current job position by going through your accomplishments section. Writing about your contributions is of prime importance, as when an app you created saved the company time and money or how the development of software made the process quick, convenient, also saving time for employees. Using figures and numbers while describing your achievements is appreciated by the employers.

3. Technical proficiency

Your technical expertise will eventually be the final judge that can distinguish you from the rest of the candidates. Write about your technical skills but do not fill your technical skills section with too much jargon as the hiring managers may not be familiar with technical terms. It is worth mentioning to include in your job application about computer programming languages or any software programs if you have undertaken. Also, if you are taking a professional computer course, that can give a competitive edge to your curriculum vitae.
